"When you watch us play basketball its not about one person, its about the team, and you will see that. We are supportive of every single person which creates that team," said sophomore center LJ Jones.
LJ, who is currently on the bench because of a minor tear in the knee, misses playing the game, but loves being out there and watching his team dominate the court.
"Our team is so strong. We stick together. There has been injuries, but they don't get discouraged," LJ said.
The team has accomplished the goal of getting close to one another and more precise with every move.
Coach Paul Eberhardt has been working on the chemistry of the team through practices, team trips, and encouraging the team to hang out outside of the court.
"There is a lot of diversity in the different players so Coach Eberhardt is really working on the chemistry of the team and meshing us together so we are like one big family," said LJ Jones.
After a two-game winning streak, the Scottsdale Community College basketball team continued to work together.
Sophomore Jonas Pollard believes that, "Everyone wants to be at practice and work hard, so it's not looked at like you have to go…we want to win," said Pollard.
Pollard who played last season knows this team has a lot of potential and they show talent on the court as well as in the classroom.
"We work really hard on good grades. Academics is a really important aspect to the team so every guy is on top of their stuff," Pollard said.
One player to watch out for is sophomore center Alex Jones, who just signed with Seattle University to play next season. He says the best memory he has had with the team so far was at the Arizona Western Classic.
"I had the best time with my teammates there. We ate, goofed around, and played basketball, what guys do best. We also played on fire, coming back to Scottsdale with those two wins was the greatest feeling ever," Alex said.
"We are really good, we just beat the 25th ranked team in the nation and they just beat the sixth team in the nation. How bomb is that?" Alex asked.
