I am officially settled into my flat in London and have adjusted to the time difference. I feel as if I have become one of them as I take the tube daily, buy my groceries from Saisbury and pop into the local Boots anytime I need sundries. I've even started to use popular British vernacular in my everyday life.
It has been cold and dreary for the past couple days, something this California and Arizona girl is definitely not used to. Yesterday, it rained the entire day as we made our way through Kensington to one of the many museums this thriving city has to offer. People have said that it always rains in London. I didn't really believe it but after being here for a couple days it seems that the rain has outweighed the sunshine, so I am starting to agree.
This morning was my first day at my internship. Or at least what I thought would be my internship. It wasn't until after I got to my placement that I found out I would be competing with other individuals for this specific duty. You could imagine my pure shock to this news, as I was never told of this stipulation. I can only hope for the best and will keep you updated on how things go.
Whether I end up at the fashion agency or am placed elsewhere, I do believe that everything happens for a reason. Maybe this is just something else to test me and make me stronger.
Other than that, I couldn't be happier with where I am at the moment. London has been everything I thought it would be- and I've only been here a few days. I can't wait to experience what else London has to offer.
I'm off for now as I am about to visit the V&A Museum before a class trip to the theatre.
