London Calling: Journalist spends summer abroad
Seems like my luck changes as quick as the weather

When I woke up this morning the sun was shining in London, a first since I have been here. There wasn't even a cloud in the sky. I knew this was a good sign and believed it would mean that my luck was turning around.
But as quick as the sun disappeared, so did my good luck stride. The rain has really been coming down on my parade these past couple days. If you've been keeping up with my London life, and I have wishful thinking that you have, then you know that my internship was kind of up in the air.
Well just as I had predicted, my original intern placement was looking for someone who was more permanent and I was placed with another company. While I had a free day to explore the streets of London, the people out here were working to find me a new company.
It was a promising start as I got to my placement this morning. Another fashion PR agency created by the women who I would be working for. The only problem- the company consisted of the two of us, for the next six weeks. My first day, I was left for three hours to "run the company" while she was at a meeting.
Now I know what you must be thinking, "that doesn't sound too bad, why is she complaining." Let me explain that to you. On my entrance into the program I was told I would be working at a British company with fellow colleagues who could teach me all about British culture and working with them on a daily basis would truly give me the feel of being a Londoner. It's kind of hard to do that when you are working for a woman from Colorado whose office doubles as her flat.
I have NOTHING against her as she is a great person and very sweet. It was just a misleading situation, which has made things harder on me. I don't expect many people to understand this specific thing unless of course you are in the program.
On a different note, everything else about London is amazing. To any SATC fans I have seen the movie and it is absolutely fabulous in everyway. You will laugh, cry and leave the cinema feeling completely content with the film.
To any music fans, I am in love with the music I have been hearing. If you want to hear a good song, download "Fascination" by Alphabeat.
That is all from me at the moment. I hope you are all enjoying your summer and are having better luck and weather than I am at the moment.
Very Well
